Grande Prairie’s first and only craft distillery, established in 2019. Nestled within Grande Prairie’s third original firehall, once known as the Bell Tower, our 16,000 square foot facility is proudly home to Latitude 55 Distillery and Lounge. Within these historic walls, we mash, ferment, distill, and package a wide range of spirits, including whisky, rum, gin, and vodka, ensuring every bottle is of the highest quality by balancing traditional craftsmanship with thoughtful innovation. From grain-on fermentation to column distillation, each spirit is shaped with intention and precision using only the flavourful hearts collected during the distillation process. We are a small-batch distillery and lounge that employs 20 team members and produces three distinct product lines. We also possess a 30 litre still for the purpose of allowing our guests the wonderful experience of batching their very own spirits. From grain to bottle and label to delivery, we do it all. The journey continues in our rackhouse where we have over 70 whisky and rum barrels maturing at any given moment. Once time and wood have shaped every drop of our precious liquid, it is then masterfully blended, bottled, and sent to stores, bars, and homes across Alberta. Our signature products even make their way to our on-site lounge where guests are invited to enjoy cask-to-glass cocktails, food, music, and some amazing northern spirit in the Old Firehall we’re proud to call home.
